Christian Quintin works primarily with pen and ink, pastel, and oil paint. In his work, two distinct styles readily emerge. One is narrative, a kaleidoscope of imagery representing ever-changing boundaries, ephemeral frontiers, and transformational energy; the second is his vivid and poetic landscapes, romantic scenes where tangible emotional form is expressed through color and shape.

Born in Saint Brieuc on the northern coast of Brittany, France, Quintin studied at the Beaux Arts Academy in Paris, moving to the United States in 1981. His work has been represented by the Vorpal Gallery in San Francisco and New York, the Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento, and the John Natsoulas Gallery, Davis. He has also been the recipient of numerous public and private awards and commissions.
